Thinking Outside the Box (CTGE 443G, CEUs: 1.2)

This is the wrap-up course in the ECM Certificate program. You work in a self-supervised workgroup to solve a problem or issue (selected by the group) which demonstrates the knowledge you have learned in the ECM program. At the final session, the group presents its project results. There is a small lecture component of this course presenting concepts and ideas on how to think outside the box. Topics include:
  •  Review of techniques used to work in unsupervised, disparate work groups
  •  Techniques for thinking outside the box
  • Brain-storming of projects to be worked on
  • Group presentations of final results

Note: This course meets for 6 hours (0.6 CEUs) on campus. Since the outside classroom assignment will take 20-25 hours to complete, there is an additional 0.6 CEUs granted for this outside coursework.

Prerequisites: Completion of at least 8 courses in the ECM Certificate program.
