E-Commerce and Change Management (CTGE 443L)

There is a wide gap in the theoretical thinking on how a company might use e-commerce in its business and actually using e-commerce to run its business. There are changes required to both the existing business processes and the mindset of the participants executing those processes. Often the removal of a large number of barriers is necessary for successful implementation.

Learn the tips and tricks that are used to make this happen in a number of different companies that focus on the value-added chain (process) of either material or labor. Interactive discussion supported by team exercises and presentations demonstrate the issues and methods required to make process changes required to support e-commerce. Topics include:

  • Goal setting for e-commerce
  • Strategic Alignment Roadmap and goal setting
  • Identification of "as is" and "should be" process performance
  • Identification of key barriers and their impact on process improvement
  • The change management process
  • The use of measurements to reinforce the change process
  • The alignment of the key processes required to support e-commerce

Who should attend: People who need to understand how to transform a non-e-commerce business to one that uses e-commerce to satisfy its customers.

Prerequisties: understanding of e-commerce and a wide understanding of how business processes work.
