Procurement: Vendors, Processes and Standards (CTGE 443M) |
This course helps procurement, materials,
logistics, financial and Internet systems managers access opportunities, evaluate
alternatives and develop strategies for sourcing, procurement and fulfillment
through web-based supply management processes. Topics include: - Background:
from proprietary to web-based e-Commerce for business-to-business supply management
- Business case for web-based procurement
- Design
challenges and functional requirements for today's web-based procurement systems
- Analysis of current software and service solutions
(including supplier/provider assessments)
- Getting
started with re-engineering the supply management process of your enterprise
Activities
include reviewing preliminary spending analysis of your enterprise to
determine potential cost reductions, evaluating technical alternatives including
pricing analysis and, with you cost-reduction estimates, conducting a return on
investment exercise for your organization. Reading
materials: hand-outs will be provided by the instructor including those
on standards, financial analysis and technical solutions. |
